 I read with keen interest the article, "Rwandan film industry is still virgin, open” (The New Times, March 15).

As a film producer, Richard Mugwaneza very rightly stated that "the movie industry in the country is still young”.

Please allow me to share with Mr Mugwaneza and your esteemed readers that the Indian film industry, Bollywood, is well developed and already a multi-million-dollar business.

Hillywood would do very well to partner with Bollywood to grow this virgin Rwandan film industry.

It is without a doubt that God has bestowed this great country, not only with ‘a thousand hills and a million smiles’, but also with immense natural beauty, and scenic lakes, which would surely offer Bollywood producers ideal locations to shoot many movies.

We would be very pleased to work closely with Mr Mugwaneza and other personalities associated with Rwanda’s nascent film industry and make this beautiful land a much sought after destination for the Indian film industry.

What is most certain is the fact that once Bollywood enters, there shall be a sharp increase in tourists, not only from India, but from the vast Indian Diaspora which is present all over the world, thereby enhancing Rwanda’s foreign exchange earnings substantially.
