Fifa has directed Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) to deduct three points from Rayon Sports on the league table standings as one of the punishments for failing to pay former head coach Raoul Shungu. A letter signed by the Fifa Disciplinary deputy secretary Alejandro Salmeron Garcia sent on March 9, 2015 was copied to both Ferwafa and Rayon Sports.

In the letter, Fifa has strongly warned Ferwafa against failure to take this action as it will lead to Fifa banning

Rwanda from all its sanctioned activities including the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifiers that commence in October.Rayon Sports owes Shungu an estimated Rwf13m and Fifa has asked the Blues to pay $31,218 approximately Rwf21.9m.

This amount was accumulated during Shungu’s second stint at the club in 2008 when he agreed with club officials to use his own money to bring in players like Honore Kabongo, Bokota Labama, Jean Lomami and Jimmy Kidega. Shungu is also said to have used his own money to buy logistics like balls, nets and training kit.
