Reigning IPC World Champion in the Men’s 800m-T46 category, Hermas Cliff Muvunyi and sprint runner Jean Claude Ndayisenga will represent Rwanda at the 9th Tunis International Meeting scheduled for March 23-25 in Tunisia.

The duo, along with their trainer Eric Karasira, will depart for Tunisia on Tuesday night aboard Turkish Airlines flight and return on March 26.

The international meet will also serve as qualifier for the 2015 IPC World Championships and 2016 Summer Paralympic Games.

The 26-year old Muvunyi will be making his second appearance at the annual prestigious Paralympic event after 2012

debut while compatriot Ndayisenga will be out there to impress at his maiden participation.

In 2012, Muvunyi won Gold in Men’s 800m and Silver medal in 400m respectively and technician Karasira told Times Sport in a telephone interview that his athlete will not settle for less this time round.

"Both runners are in good form, I expect them but especially Muvunyi to perform well in Tunisia.

He has been there before and did pretty well, winning Gold in both 800 and 400m categories, and it is very possible for him to do it again,” Karasira said on Sunday.

IPC World Championships will be staged in Doha, Qatar from October 20 to 31, 2015 while Paralympic Games will be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in the 2016 summer.
