Rwanda Energy Group (REG) basketball club is in search of a new head coach before the new season tips off, Weekend Sport understands.
The Rwandan powerhouse is currently without coach after Dean Murray’s contract expired at the end of the just-concluded 2023 season.
Murray joined REG in February guided the team to the quarterfinals of the 2023 Basketball Africa League (BAL). He continued with the team in the domestic league, finishing the campaign as runners-up after losing the championship to APR BBC.

The American told Times Sport that he is open to a return to REG but hinted at a possibility of moving elsewhere should a reasonable offer comes to the table.
"My agent and I are exploring other coaching options and offers outside of Rwanda. I would like to return to REG but I have had no conversations or negotiations with the management since the season ended," he said in an interview.
