Editor,

Please allow me to share with your esteemed readers that last week, an Indian Agro Company, Arjun Beeswax Industries registered their business with Rwanda Development Board (RDB) under the name "Arjun Beeswax Industries (Rwanda) Limited” and are working towards launching their manufacturing facility in the Kigali Economic Trade Zone, in the very near future.

What is special about this investment is the fact that this company will use waste which is just being discarded by farmers at present, as their raw material. They will then convert this waste into beeswax and other waxes, which is much needed in the pharma and cosmetic business.

Since Rwanda presently, does not have these industries, Arjun Beeswax (Rwanda) will export their products, thus earning valuable foreign exchange for the country.

As Dr. Belay Begashaw has very rightly remarked, "We should start looking at agriculture as a business.”

This is precisely what Arjun Beeswax will do for our farmers. Such innovations will surely enhance Rwanda’s economic growth and we wish the Indian investor every success here in this beautiful land of a thousand hills and a million smiles.
