Tired of living outside their motherland for long, a Munyarwanda teacher based in Uganda, together with 45 of his students, decided to return home after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. The year was 1995. The government donated land to this group and an Anglophone school was set up.
Despite all the hardships, the school managed to attract over 500 students in the first 6 months.
The school quickly became famous for debates, good academic performance and ironically indiscipline. Drinking and consuming drugs was one of the reasons for the school’s ‘popularity.’
