European football lovers will be in for a treat when pay TV company Star Times Media, launch a Sports Premium channel in May that will show games from one of the biggest European leagues; the German Bundesliga effective next season.
Star Times Media signed an initial two-year contract to show Europe’s most exciting league. The Sports Premium channel will also be showing other games that weren’t previously available to viewers on that platform like Cricket, NBA, Athletics and Rugby.
Speaking to the Times Sport yesterday, the Star Times Brand and Marketing director Hussein Kamanzi, said, "We’re launching a new sports premium at end of this season. The channel is going to be broadcasting all the Bundesliga game with whom we have signed exclusively for two years. "
The Sports Premium channel comes in addition to the Unique Package. Last Monday, Star Times launched a new programme called Sports Focus on a new package.
"The programme (Sports Focus) will be giving sports updates and it will also show the Euro 2016 qualifiers and UEFA Champions League,” Kamanzi added.
Previously, Star Times would give rights to show the Champions League to local TV stations but Rwandans will be able to watch the games at a "reasonably priced” Nova Package.
The two additional channels come after Sports 2 programme that was launched to give viewers more sports.
