Former Kigali Basketball Club player and coach, Jean-Guy Rutayisire (pictured) will be laid to rest this afternoon at Rusororo cemetery at 3 pm.

Rutayisire died in a fatal car accident last Sunday in Mu Nkoto, Kamonyi District, while travelling to Huye District with his teammates for a league game against University of Rwanda- Huye Campus. The accident claimed a total of five people while others were severely injured.

This morning at 7am, the body will be picked at CHUK hospital and two hours later (9am), mourners will pay final bye to the former national team players at his home in Nyamirambo. At 12pm, there will be funeral mass at Saint Andre Catholic Church, Nyamirambo.

Rutayisire also played for Uganda’s most successful basketball club, Falcons between 2000 and 2005, before joining APR in 2005 until 2008, winning three league titles with the army side.
