A catholic priest died on the spot when the car he was driving veered off the road and overturned in Musanze District.

The deceased was identified as Thacien Havugimana, 33.

The incident occurred on Wednesday evening.

Chief Inspector of Police Andre Hakizimana, the Northern Province Police spokesperson, said the victim was driving to Musanze from Remera Sector.

The body was removed from the wreckage and taken to Ruhengeri Hospital mortuary.

Hakizimana said investigations to ascertain the cause of accident were ongoing. He challenged drivers to exercise caution whenever they are on the road.
