Six-time national women football league champions and table leaders AS Kigali host archrivals Inyemera this afternoon at Mumena Stadium on match-day 4 of the season.
Gicumbi-based Inyemera, who finished third last season, would dethrone the champions, AS Kigali with a win today while a victory for the City of Kigali-sponsored side will see them open up a five-point gap at the top of the table.
Grace Nyinawumuntu’s AS Kigali have maximum points from the first three league fixtures and will be in pole position to make it four wins out of four.
"We are keen to extend our unbeaten record in the league to three seasons in a row, Inyemera are a good team with strong players but we just have to do what we have been doing in the previous match in order to overcome them,” Nyinawumuntu told Sunday Sport.
Inyemera won their first two matches before drawing 0-0 against last season’s first runners-up Kamonyi FC on match-day 3 last weekend.
