Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) has appointed Jerome Dufourg as the new head of marketing and communications on a three-year contract.
The 28-year-old Frenchman who is a Fifa Master Alumni has been tasked with making the federation an independent entity financially.
Excited about the challenge that lies ahead, Dufourg told Times Sport that, "I am the head of marketing and communications, so I have to find a balance between the two but I will concentrate more on marketing which is crucial for the federation.
Ferwafa receives money from Fifa and Caf but no one is sponsoring the league so there is a problem of funding.”
The 2014/15 National Football League neither has a sponsor for the commercial rights or TV rights following a last minute disagreement between Ferwafa and Bralirwa who sponsored the 2013/14 season through their brand, Turbo King.
A potential TV rights deal with local television company TV 10 failed to see the light of day after the Ministry of Sports and Culture intervened citing flaws in the bidding process.
