Dear readers,

This Friday, we bring you the nagging issue of International fugitive, Felicien Kabuga, who is known for masterminding the death of many in the 1994 Rwanda Genocide, and which has increasingly becoming an asthma.

It is common knowledge that this fugitive is basking in the bright sunshine of Kenya, as an uninvited guest who has enjoyed beyond imagination the environ and comfort of the highlands of Kenya.

Of course territorial integrity must be respected, but the case of Kabuga is not resting well here in Rwanda, especially when a member country in the East African Community does not go an extra mile to show and demonstrate the willingness to apprehend a wanted criminal who is resting his laurels in their country.

Rwanda scrapped the death penalty and therefore, no one should be apprehensive and afraid that Kabuga will be sentenced to death; the worst he can get is a life sentence.

If Kabuga is not a guest of Kenya, the request is simple; let the authorities there intensify the search for him, cast the net wide and help bring to book someone who is accused of sending many to their early death.

And, in related development, the Congolese soldiers need to understand the obligations of a journalist. Because FDLR soldiers are hiding there does not invite for mistreatment of a journalist from Rwanda. Whether one looks like a Rwandan or Jamaican should not be the point, the point should be that the world needs to know what is transpiring around the world.

Name calling and branding journalists helps no one. Continuous suspicion will only help to escalate the problem in the region. Here, read about a journalist who was harassed in the Congolese territory. Nice weekend.
