Music lovers put on your dancing shoes and get ready for a musical festival, and its 100 per cent live.

Malian music legend Habib Koite and Ivorian reggae star Tiken Jah Fakoly are among a host of artistes set to perform at the 2015 Isaano Arts festival, set to get underway at Petit Stade in Remera, tomorrow.

The two-day event will see Koite as the headline act of the opening day on Sunday and Fakoly on Tuesday. Also set to perform during Isaano Arts 2015 festival are local talents such as Nyundo Talents, Mzee Timothy, United worship dance, Gaby Kamanzi, Moriah Choir, and Dream Boys.

Isaano Arts is an annual music festival that seeks to celebrate and amplify African music from across the continent. The festival, in its third edition, has grown to become one of the largest and most attended musical festivals in the country, featuring some of the top local and guest musicians.

The festival will provide a platform for the people in the creative industries to showcase their talents including dance, fashion, music, spoken word, drama, poetry and visual arts, among others.

In addition to the performances, festival goers will enjoy food, drinks and have a chance to buy some of the beautiful African art pieces on display.

One of the festival coordinators, Josselin Bremaud, said of the event: "We are expecting people from Burundi, Uganda, Tanzania, and other countries in the region to converge in Kigali because these two artists are very famous and loved by all Africans.”

 Both performances start at 7p.m. Entrance fee is Rwf1000 and Rwf5000 in the ordinary and VIP sections, respectively.   

Habib Koite, known for his ability to make traditional music sound folkish at the same time contemporary, will be a delight for West African music lovers.

Tiken Jah Fakoly, real name Doumbia Moussa Fakoly, does music "to wake up the consciences”. His music speaks for his compatriots and Africans in general, especially those who suffer from all sorts of injustices. He aims to incite a spirit of Pan-Africanism and campaigns for an African economic, political and cultural revival.

Isaano Arts festival 2015 was supported by Ministry of Sports and Culture, Positive Production, Institut Français du Rwanda, and Hotel de Mille Colline by Kempkiski.
