The National men’s and women beach volleyball teams yesterday started training at Mamba club in Kimihurura ahead of the Olympic Games Qualifiers that will be held in Egypt from 5-9 March.

"We have selected good players and we expect them to give their best in the qualifiers because our major goal is to play in the Olympic,” Christian Hatumimana, the Executive Secretary of the Volleyball federation said.

According to Hatumimana, the team will be coached by Rwanda National Volleyball team head coach Paul Bitok.

The players currently training are: Olivier Ntagengwa, Flavien Ndamukunda, Eli Mutabazi, Vincent Ruhumuriza and Pierre Marshal Kwizera in the men’s category while the women’s fray has- Seraphine Mukantambara, Denyse Mutatsimpundu, Charlotte Nzayisenga, Judith Hakizimana and Drocelle Muhawenimana.

The 2016 Summer Olympic Games will be held in the Brazilian capital, Rio de Janeiro from August 5-21.
