Society Magazine’s Doreen Umutesi caught up with the singer who shared reasons why she loves Valentine’s Day.

How best can you explain Valentine’s Day?

All I can say is that Valentine’s Day is a special day for people How do you plan to spend Valentine’s Day?

I’m planning to give myself a wonderful full spa treatment and later in the day, I have a show and will be performing twice.

What is the craziest thing you have done for love?

The craziest thing I’ve done for love was travel eleven hours to see the guy I was in a relationship with. That was crazy. I look back and remember that day and I just laugh at myself.

What is your most memorable Valentine’s Day?

My most memorable Valentine’s Day was in 2003. Someone gave me beautifully wrapped flowers, sweets, chocolates and a card. I was happy, but at the same time scared because I didn’t know who sent me the gifts. I was not dating at the time because I was still very young.

Do you believe in a special dress code for Valentine’s Day?

I believe in a dress code for Valentine’s Day because it shows that one is dating based on how they dress that day. For singles, you can totally tell because they don’t put in any effort at all. So I think that dress code is important.

How do you feel about celebrating love only once a year?

I believe in Valentine’s Day, and I don’t understand why it shouldn’t be celebrated. Even though people in love are supposed to celebrated love every day, Valentine’s Day is special. So it’s not wrong to celebrate it.

What do you think a woman would appreciate the most on Valentine’s Day and why?

I believe very many women would love a massage or spa treatment and dinner for two accompanied with flowers. It’s just one day and worth the treat.

If you had the chance, what is one thing you would change about Valentine’s Day?

I would stop people from wearing red and black outfits. It’s so cliché.

Your ideal Valentine’s Day date would be?

Sensitive, nice and of course romantic.
