Talks are in advanced stage between Rwanda Energy Group and shooting guard Cleveland Thomas Jr as the club pushes to lure the him back, Times Sport has learnt.
The American enjoyed a short spell with Mexican side Dorados de Chihuahua for which he played 16 matches, contributing 201 points, 41 rebounds and 66 assists in 481 minutes.

"The club is in advanced talks with him (Thomas), the deal could be closed anytime” a source close to the club told Times Sport.

Cleveland was a key player for REG in the past two years, helping the team win two consecutive national basketball league championships (2022 and 2023) and twice qualifying them to the quarterfinals of the Basketball Africa League (BAL).

Meanwhile, recently, the club beat APR BBC to the signature of American-Rwandan center Kendall Gray as they continue to improve their roster ahead of the new season.
