La Jeunesse started their campaign to the top flight division with a 2-1 win over Gitikinyoni Centre in the second division league, Pool A, on Saturday.
La Jeunesse, renowned as a hub for homegrown talents, was disbanded shortly before the start of the 2013/2014 campaign due to financial constraints after their sponsors, Euro Trade International decided to cancel the sponsorship deal.
In other Pool A matches, Etoile de l’Est routed Hope FC 6-0, Pepiniere and Vision FC drew 1-1, Gasabo beat Nyagatare1-0, Kicukiro-based Aspor lost 1-0 to Heroes FC while Vision Jeunesse defeated United Stars 2-1.
In Pool B, 2013 Peace Cup semi-finalists Bugesera FC hit Miroplast 3-0, Esperance FC beat Unity FC 2-0, Intare lost 2-0 to Sorwathe, Interforce beat Rwamagana1-0, AS Muhanga were held by Kirehe to a 1-all draw while Golden Generation beat Akagera 3-0 .
