The City of Kigali City-sponsored, AS Kigali are keen to continue their dominance of the national women league after kicking off the 2015 season with a remarkable 14-0 win over Rugende at Kigali regional stadium.

Grace Nyinawumuntu’s side, AS Kigali, have won the women’s football league since 2009, and it appears as though their rivals will struggle to stop them from winning a record-extending sixth consecutive title.

For Nyinawumuntu, who also doubles as the She-Amavubi head coach, retaining the title is top on her priority, now that she has only AS Kigali to focus on, after dismantling of the national team.

"We dominated the match because we set targets before we started and we didn’t relax and we will continue to do so until we are sure the title is in the bag,” Nyinwumuntu said.

She added, "We have every opportunity to retain the title for a sixth consecutive year, and we have started with a big win, which is something I must commend the girls for.”
