Rayon Sports have reacted to the team’s struggles in the National Football League by sacking head coach Andy Mfutila after less than three months in charge.
The DR Congo-born tactician, signed a six-month contract with Rayon Sports in mid November, but then failed to win a game after ten matches in charge.
Mfutila found Rayon on second position he was appointed, but leaves the Nyanza-based side in fifth place with 22 points, 10 behind table leaders APR.
Former APR and TP Mazembe coach, Mfutila was tasked to guide Rayon Sports to the league title, Cecafa Kagame Cup and possibly make improvement on the team’s performance in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Assistant coach Sosthene Habimana will take over the Blues with immediate effect. In the past 12 months, Rayon Sports have had four head coaches—Didier Gomez da Rosa (French), Luc Eymael and Jean Francois Losciuto (both Belgian) as well as Mfutila.
