The Winners women football club has withdrawn from the national women football league.
According to a Ferwafa statement released on Friday, the Gisozi-based side, which was founded in 2013, pulled out due to financial constraints.
That leaves the women’s league with12 teams, including; defending champions AS Kigali, Inyemera, Rambura, Yuvia, Bugesera and Rugende.
Others are; Nyagatare, Freedom de Gacyenye, Kamonyi, Academic Girls, Atletico Huye and Ecole Secondaire Mutunda.
This year’s women’s football league is sponsored by grant money from the world football governing body, Fifa to a tune of US$70, 000 (about Rwf49.7m).
