Society for Family Health (SFH) Rwanda has partnered with the Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) to organise a two-day football tournament slated for January 31 - February 1 involving last season’s top four clubs.

The NGO will inject Rwf11.5 million in the football tournament meant to popularise the use of condoms, particularly the Prudence brand, in the fight against HIV/Aids.

Police will take on Rayon Sports in the first game at Kigali regional stadium before reigning league champions APR play AS Kigali.

The winners in both ties will meet in the final tomorrow at Amahoro stadium while the losers will tussle it out for the third place.

The eventual winners of the tournament will walk away with Rwf3 million while the runners-up gets Rwf2 million and the third placed team will get Rwf1m.

"This is good for our football, we are happy to have this tournament because football is also a way of bringing together people to talk about different aspects of life, especially how to keep healthy,” Olivier Mulindahabi, the Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer said.

This event is part of SFH’s broader efforts in the fight against HIV/Aids, especially with view to making sure that all Rwandans have access to information and products they need to make wise decisions and lead healthy lives.
