The 850 Rwandan men and women in uniform who have been serving under the United Nations Multi-dimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (Minusca) completed their tour of duty on Wednesday and were replaced by another 750 troops in the first rotation exercise involving RDF peacekeepers serving in CAR.
As the officers prepared to return home, droves of CAR citizens turned up at the RDF headquarters in Mpoko to bid them farewell and express gratitude to them for their tireless efforts in pacifying the beleaguered country.
