The 29 year-old has been in Kenya since Monday and Times Sport understands he has since put pen to paper.

He joins former Rayon teammates Abouba Sibomana and Karim Nizigiyimana who joined the Kenyan giants earlier this month. Kagere, the top scorer at the 2011 regional Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup, moves to Gor Mahia from KF Tirana of Albania where he spent only six months having joined them from Rayon Sports in July last year for $10,000 (about Rwf7.5 million).

The Uganda-born is expected to boost further an already impressive striking force that includes Ghanaian Taofiq Zachary and Michael Olunga.

Kagere, with 26 caps for Rwanda and nine international goals, has also previously played for the defunct Atraco, Uganda’s Mbale Heroes and Masaka LC, as well as Tunisian side Esperance Sportive de Zarzis. Gor Mahia are due to play CNAPS of Madagascar in CAF champions league.
