Esperance FC chairman Donatien Tuyizere says his club’s top priority this season is returning to the topflight league after being relegated in May last year. The Kimisagara based side has been training for a month now ahead of the second division league that starts tomorrow.

"We know what went wrong last season, we learnt our lesson and I believe we know what to do to return to the national football league,” Tuyizere said in an interview. He added:” We have two coaches (Etienne Tuyishimire and Emmanuel Dushime) who are very good at coaching youth and junior teams, something that is an advantage because our squad is made up of many young players.”

As a way of boosting youth football, Rwanda Football Association (Ferwafa) has instructed second division teams to use mainly U-20 players.

Each team will only be allowed to have three players above 20 years.
