African Volleyball Confederation (CAVB) has picked Tunisia as the hosts for the 2015 Men’s African Clubs Championships due March 5-17 in Sousse.
The Club Championships is considered one of the most attractive volleyball tournaments in Africa as it usually attracts more than 16 teams.
The winners of the 13-day tournament will represent Africa at the 2015 Men’s Club World Championship which will be held in Brazil from May 5 to 10.
Rwanda will be represented by league champions APR. CAVB set February 28 as the final date for clubs to confirm their participation in the prestigious event.
"We will start preparations next month, we want to represent our country well, the players have been on holidays but we will get back to business very soon,” APR VC head coach Sammy Mutemi Mulinge said.
Last year, National University of Rwanda, then national champions, failed to take part in the event due to financial constraints.
Tunisia’s Esperance are the defending champions.
