Rayon Sports are keen to win this year’s volleyball league title after finishing as runners-up in their debut season last year.
Fidele Nyirimana, Rayon Sports head coach, who will be boosted by the return of the influential Fred Musoni, is confident they can beat off stiff competition from APR,Inatek and KVC.
"This is our season to win the league, I am aware we will face stiff challenge from (reigning champions) APR, Inatek and KVC, among others, but we’ll be out there to show our resilience and determination.”
"Mid-last season, we were in a commanding position in the league but we suffered a big blow when our major players left for studies,” the former University of Rwanda volleyball coach said.
The players included team captain Eric ‘Machine’ Nsabimana and setter Ivan Mahoro Nsabimana, who left for the Netherlands and Russia, respectively, for studies, while Nelson Murangwa headed to Japan for professional trials.
During their inaugural season, in 2014 –, the Blues competed in four different local competitions, winning Genocide Memorial tournament (GMT).
