U-17 African Championship

Saturday
Rwanda v Sudan

If what is put on display during the training sessions is anything to go by, then Rwanda’s youth team are poised to reach the next round of the 8th African championships.

The junior wasps that have been undergoing intensive preparations are certain to knock out Sudan when the two sides meet this Saturday in the return leg at Amahoro Stadium.

Michael Weiss’s youngsters have a 2-1 goals aggregate advantage from the first leg, which puts them in a healthy position to progress to the third and final qualifying round.

Watching them taken through their drills, the boys are doing extremely well with APR’s pair of Jean Claude Iranzi and Hegman Ngoma pulling the strings like never before.

Forward Christian Uwumukiza is finding no hard time in finding the net while custodian Emery Mvuyekure has been doing things that could only send a stern warning to his seniors Jean Claude Ndoli and Eric Ndayishimiye.

A draw on Saturday will be enough to see Rwanda through to the next stage where they will face the winner between Tunisia and Burkina Faso.
