Meanwhile, the Mumena-based side is also on the verge of signing former Amavubi forward Meddie Kagere from KF Tirana of Albania. "We have signed the two players for six months, until end of the season, and we believe they will help us in the second half of the season,” Kiyovu spokesperson Muddy Byumvuhore said in a telephone interview on Thursday. Regarding striker, Kagere, he said: "We are only waiting for his release letter.”
Ali Bizimungu’s struggling Kiyovu are in ninth position on the league table with 16 points after 13 rounds of matches, 16 points behind leaders APR FC.
Kagere was released by KF Tirana early this month after just six months. KF Tirana bought Kagere from Rayon Sports in July last year for $10, 000 (about Rwf7.5 million).
The Uganda-born forward has previously played for Mbale Heroes, Masaka LC, Atraco, Mukura, Police and Rayon Sports.
