Froger worried by APR’s hectic schedule

APR head coach Thierry Froger says his side is not having any briefing space for a break due to the Primus National League tight schedule.

The army side needed a 94th minute goal from Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma to defeat a well-composed Mukura Victory Sports side who had outplayed them throughout the game.

Despite the result, Froger claimed that playing three games in a week at some point affected on his team as they struggled against the Huye-based team which could have won the encounter had it not been for an in form Pavelh N’Zila who pulled off a number of saves to keep his team in the game.

"It wasn't easy with the accumulation of matches. Friday, was our third game in a week. We didn't give up and in the end we were rewarded," Froger said in a post-match interview.

"We faced a well-organized team; we needed freshness and a lot of precision and that is the reason for the changes. The boys work well, we will recover well and continue the work. "

Froger also hailed striker Victor Mbaoma who was anonymous in the game until he rose to the occasion late to pop up with a last grasp goal which earned his side the three maximum points.

"Victor regained his confidence. He scored, which is always very good for an attacker," the French gaffer said.

Friday’s win over Mukura saw APR move to the top of the table with 14 points to open a one-point lead clear of Musanze who welcome Rayon Sports in a crunch encounter taking place Sunday, October 15, at Ubworoherane Stadium.
