They have been plagued by divorce rumours for some time now, so it is no surprise that Aline Gahongayire has finally addressed the persistent speculation about her marriage to Gabriel Gahima being on the rocks – insisting that, "I’m blessed and still love my husband.”
Gahongayire, who married Gahima in 2013, has denied rumours suggesting her relationship has fallen apart and she’s hoping to silence the gossip once and for all by revealing just how devoted she is to her husband and her marriage.
She told The New Times, "I am blessed and still love my husband and I don’t even know where all that is coming from. My husband and I are still together and keeping in touch since he is not in the country,” says Gahongayire.
"We have no problem and we can’t just wake up in the morning and file for divorce,” she adds.Meanwhile, Gahima admitted talking to some journalists about his married life but insists his comments were distorted.
Gahima, who is currently in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, said: "A lot has been said erroneously about us, it was a mistake that I spoke to the media in the first place.
"Even though I never gave reasons for what I said, people went as far as using pictures of me and my nieces to (qualify) what I never said, instead of asking me. People only rushed to judge both of us.”
"I would appreciate it if people just let the two of us handle this without interference,” he added.
However, Gahongayire’s recent posts on her Facebook page reveal a woman going through difficult times, with hundreds of fans sending her messages of support on the social media platform.
The couple lost their first born at birth in September last year.
Gahongayire is a renowned Gospel musician and founder of Alga Plus Size fashion show. She is also currently one of the judges at the ongoing Miss Rwanda 2015 auditions.
