Enforce construction rules

Editor, Reference is made to the story, “Adventist pastors grilled over death of worshipers” (The New Times, January 6). The contractor and/or supervisor should also be investigated and appropriate action taken (including manslaughter charges). I’m assuming each church branch has autonomy over its finances, and maybe the pastors hired a contractor.

Editor,

Reference is made to the story, "Adventist pastors grilled over death of worshipers” (The New Times, January 6). The contractor and/or supervisor should also be investigated and appropriate action taken (including manslaughter charges). I’m assuming each church branch has autonomy over its finances, and maybe the pastors hired a contractor.

Thorough investigations should be carried out with the involvement of the professional association of engineers to give a professional opinion and report to be available to the public.

Secondly, why were people allowed to congregate in an unfinished building? The government previously cracked down on building owners and developers who allow people to use unfinished and poorly constructed structures.

The government ought to take the same course of action again.
