Rwanda U-23 football team will enter camp next week ahead of their friendly game against Tanzania on January 22 in Dar es Salaam, Times Sport has learnt.
The tie was initially supposed to be played on December 9 but the encounter was called off due to unavailability of players who were competing in the Ombudsman’s Cup.
Ferwafa spokesperson Moussa Hakizimana said training will last a week.
Amavubi are using the friendly to prepare for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games first round of qualification against Somalia in April.
The winner between Rwanda and Somalia will meet Uganda.
In the other round of qualification, the winner will take on Egypt and the victor will then qualify for the Caf U-23 tournament that will be hosted in the Democratic Republic of Congo in December this year, where the top three will qualify for the Rio 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
Amavubi head coach Stephen Constantine told Times Sport that playing more friendly games will give an opportunity to the young players to get exposure before the qualification games.
The U-23 side was held to a goalless draw by Burundi side in a friendly match last year.
