NGOMA — All roads in Ngoma District at the weekend led to Sake for a political rally. Thousands of followers crowded to show their support for RPF, characterised by party songs.

Party supporters were shown a film of some of the party’s past achievements in areas of justice, good governance, education, health and agriculture.

Led by Julius Kansime, the district party chairman, the rally attracted the party’s parliamentary candidates in the area, Liberata Kayitesi and Tharcisse Shamakokera. The third candidate is Nathanael Mugenzi.

Kansime is also the district vice mayor in-charge of finance and economic development.

Théogene Karinamariyo, another party official called on supporters to stick to the party, saying it is the only one with a vision for the country.

"Voting for RPF is planning for your good future,” he said.

Libérate Kayitesi highlighted the party’s past achievements including total peace, and decentralisation which has helped extend services nearer to the people. She called upon residents to rally behind RPF, in order for the party to accomplish its goals.

On education, Kayitesi said that it’s through RPF that universities have grown from one to over 20 since 1994.
