Rwanda’s online ID, The .rw domain name Go Ltd, a local youth run company, is offering free websites to Rwandan businesses in its designed GoConnect Service Packs.

Dioscore Shikama, the managing director of Go Ltd, says GoConnect is an online communication management brand designed to help small and medium enterprises to become more professional.

"It helps businesses to build their own brand, break geographic limits and expand the market. At the same time, this solution will increase Rwanda’s online presence and attract investors since they will be able to track the status of business in Rwanda,” he says.

The GoConnect Service packs includes website development, content update, hosting and social media coverage and is targeting small and medium enterprises from different industrial categories such as manufacturing, services, youth and women initiatives, associations and cooperatives.

The GoConnect expects to deliver 3,000 free websites within 6 months.

"We strongly believe in power of this service to achieve a significant promise in ICT use and to promote Rwanda’s online identity (The .rw domain name),” Shikama explains. "We also want to give Rwandans a reason to use Internet and expand their market.”

Launched in December 2014, the GoConnect is an initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Educat, a business and education accelerator and kLab, an innovation tech space.
