Dear editor,
News that Sudanese government troops have launched attacks on two Darfur towns, only tell us how cumbersome it is to forge peace in that country.
This is a very bad development; the five-year conflict in Darfur has led to the deaths of thousands while displacing millions.
China is again implicated. The Panorama TV programme tracked down Chinese army lorries in the Sudanese province that came from a batch exported from China to Sudan in 2005.
China is also said to be training fighter pilots who fly Chinese A5 Fantan fighter jets in Darfur.
If the claim is true, then China is contravening a UN arms embargo on Darfur.
Again, if it is true that China is involved, the international community should call pressure it out, otherwise the war will never end.
