Police Handball Club wrapped up what has a been a sensational season for them by adding the Rwanda Cup to six other trophies after beating rivals APR 31-24 in the final on Saturday at Kimisagara youth sports centre.
En-route to the final, Police beat Nyakabanda while APR eliminated College of Education (formerly KIE) in the semi-finals on the same day.
"We are very happy to lift the Rwanda Cup. It completes a wonderful season for us,” said Police head coach Antoine Ntabanganyimana.
He added: "We are going to take a break before starting to prepare for next season for which the target will be to improve our performance in regional and continental competitions.”
Police have won an unprecedented seven trophies this season on the local scene, including the national league, Liberation Day, Genocide Commemoration, Labour Day, Sulfo Beach, Carred’AS and Rwanda Cup.
