Rayon Sports coach Andy Magloire Mfutila is adamant that his side can still win the league despite a five-match winless streak that has seen the Blues slump to 4th in the national football league table.

The Nyanza-based side have 19 points from 11 games and haven’t won a game since Mfutila joined the club last month.

"This is not the position we should be in and I am confident the results are going to improve. We are working hard to do that,” Mfutila said, adding that the team is 7 points adrift of the league leaders, a situation that is not insurmountable to overhaul.

APR lead the league table with 26 points, AS Kigali are second on 24, while Police are third with 20 points.

The Congolese tactician also called on the Blues’ fans to remain calm, saying every team has good and difficult moments in a season and it is how a team approaches such situations that matters.

Mfutila’s determination to return the club to winning ways is not made any easier since they take on Police on January 6 before travelling to Huye to play a resurgent Mukura side that has been transformed after the return of coach Godfrey Okoko.

The Blues this week held a crisis meeting that involved playing staff, coaches and the club administration to find ways of ending the poor results.
