Jeanne Uwamahoro, 20, is a boutique assistant in Kimihurura

I always wake up at 5 a.m. wash my face and immediately dash to fetch water.  When I come back from fetching water, I take a shower and start preparing to go for work.

When I arrive at the workplace, I start cleaning the entire boutique. It takes me thirty minutes to complete the cleaning work.

At around 6:40 a.m, that’s when my boss arrives. I must always make sure that she finds when I have finished the necessary work I am supposed to do.

I start receiving clients from 7 a.m. At this time, most of the clients come for the milk. We sell good milk which has won hearts of our clients. That’s why they keep coming for it again and again.

At about 10a.m, the clients slow down a bit and I use this opportunity to relax.  We sell variety of items and milk. Milk has earned us a lot compared to other items.

I continue working until lunch time when my boss comes back and then I rush for lunch. I go for lunch at 1p.m. My boss gives me thirty minutes break.

Here, I run very quickly to reach home and come back in time. As a boutique attendant, I always make sure that I work hard to convince my boss.

I work until 6 p.m. I go back home and relax. I go to bed at around 11.pm.
