Christmas is fast approaching, and with that comes the need to spoil our loved ones with gifts. Donah Mbabazi asked a few ladies what their ideal gift for a mum would be and why.

Well, for Christmas, I would gather all the children and the rest of our family to spend the holiday with my mother. That would be special and the perfect thing to do for my mother on Christmas.

I am going to take her to a spa for a full body massage so she can get a manicure, pedicure and get her hair done; basically treat her like a queen. Then after I will take her for dinner, it will be a girls’ night out. I want to do that for her because she is a workaholic, so for this one day, I want to get her off work to enjoy life.

There is a perfume she likes called Cinema and I am planning to buy it for her. Plus I will also get her a traditional dress (umucyenyero). Since she is my mother I cannot give her a skirt or top, but rather a dignifying umucyenyero.

It’s complicated to find something you can give as a gift to your mum considering she is of great importance. But on Christmas, I would prefer to bake her a cake because it holds a lot of meaning.
