Bangui Sporting Club demolished BC Virunga 82-39 on Tuesday, October 10 to relaunch their bid for a place in the West Division Elite 16 round.

The Central African Republic club is coached by Liz Mills, a female basketball tactician who happens to be the only woman to have coached a team at the BAL so far.

During Bangui SC's match against BC Virunga, Mills' team led the one-sided match from the jump-ball to the final buzzer with Alex Higgins-Titsha playing a pivotal role in the largest winning margin in the Road to BAL 2024 so far.

The Australian forward accounted for 11 of Bangui's 16 points at the end of the opening quarter before finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds, for his first double-double in the tournament.

Evans Ganapamo added 20 points and Bijan Johnson came up with 10 points to help the Bangui-based club improve to 2-1.

Meanwhile, Jonathan Nzamba, the only BC Virunga to score in double digits, finished with 13 points.

It was a victory that Bangui needed after suffering a shocking defeat against Gabon's Espoir Basket Club in the opening game of Group B qualifiers taking place in the Cameroonian capital city.

BC Virunga stepped on the floor looking to bounce back from a narrow defeat to hosts FAP but they struggled to adjust to Bangui Sporting Club's suffocating defensive game plan.

With the win, Bangui improved to 2-1 (including a *20-0 forfeit win against Lamantins) while BC Virunga dropped to 0-2.
