One of the country’s popular orchestras, International choir and instrumental group of Kigali, tops the must-watch-live list for any lover of classic music this weekend.
The choir is scheduled to perform at Kigali Serena Hotel, tomorrow, December 19, in the concert dubbed, "Christmas Carol.” The concert starts at 6pm with the entrance fee of Rwf5000 and Rwf10000 respectively.
Robert Makuta, the general secretary of the choir, said, "We want to join Rwandans and our fans to celebrate Christmas.”
The 40-member ensemble, including Cécile Umubyeyi, Christian Kwisanga, Chantal Uwizeyimana and Flora Mutimucyeye, among others, will play their own compositions such as Ubaye ubukombe and Turinganje, as well as Christmas songs by other musicians.
They will also perform different traditional African songs and contemporary dances.International choir and instrumental group of Kigali was founded in 2006, with the mission of promoting the professional music and talent.
In July 2014, the choir represented Rwanda at the Pan African Festival held in Bujumbura, Burundi. The choir performed at the official launch of the Jamafest last year, and headlined the African cultural festival which took place in Burundi this year.
