Comedian Japhet Mazimpaka, mostly known for his work in ‘Bigomba Guhinduka,’ is organising a comedy show titled ‘The Upcoming Diaspora.’ The event will highlight a diverse lineup of comedians, featuring both national and international talent.
Slated for October 29, the third solo performance by Mazimpaka will take place at Camp Kigali. This performance comes after the previous solo experience, ‘Stupid Experience’, and ‘University Tour’.
The comedian who previously co-hosted with 5k Etienne told The New Times that the duo agreed to try other ventures outside ‘Bigomba Guhinduka’ and ‘Muhamagare’.
"I used to be more of a stand-up comedian and he's more into acting comedy — so we combine both but also one can do something as his art directs him,” Mazimpaka explained.
The show, according to him, will feature Josh2Funny, Doctall Kingsley, Phronesis all from Nigeria, MCA Tricky from Kenya, and Sundiata from Uganda.
Local comedians on the line up also include Michael Sengazi, Babu Joe, Joshua other university comedians who were detected during his recent show dubbed ‘Japheth’s Comedy Campus Tour’.
Commenting on what people should expect, he said that this is going to be his biggest event and that it will be a full package of content.
"Drawing from the campus tour experience and the international touches, we will bring them all of that in the comedy show. I’ve prepared enough and will be full of different surprises this time,” he said.
Tickets for the show are now available for purchase. The pricing options are as follows: A table for six people is priced at Rwf 200,000, VIP tickets are available at Rwf 20,000, and regular tickets are priced at Rwf 10,000.
