How would you describe your dress sense?
I like being elegant. I wear what I believe looks good on me. I love experimenting but I don’t follow current trends. I don’t go after what is in vogue but if I look at something and I’m comfortable with it, whether new or not,I will go for it. I also take into consideration my height and body shape.
What are some of your favourite clothing items?
Turtle necks, blazers and peplum tops.
Where do you shop for clothes?
I sometimes shop from town, especially around Rubangura, but I shop anywhere as long as I like the attire. I used to shop in Uganda but I now want to shop from within. I also do window-shopping before parting with my money. You know, there are times you look at something and you’re like "Yeah, I must have this”.
What do you consider when shopping for clothes?
One is comfort; I have to first make sure that if I put on any clothes, at the end of the day I will not feel awkward or I will not want to pull the skirtdown. I also consider the quality of fabric or colour. Then, does the style flatter my body shape? I also consider the price. Lastly, if I have something similar in my wardrobe, I won’t buy it.
What is your favourite fashion accessory?
I love a fantastic handbag or a purse. A bag actually complements how you look. Keeping a purse till its worn out is not just unacceptable, it’s unhealthy. So I have like three or four bags I hold, each depending on what I wear.
What’s your favourite clothing item on a guy?
A cool casual t-shirt, whatever he blends it with is up to him but I mind the top part.
What’s your favourite scent?
I don’t have just one; I love three and I wear them differently. Calvin Klein, Eternity and EKNY for women.
What is the most expensive fashion accessory that you own?
I don’t know if it’s really expensive, it’s a jewelry box that my husband bought for me. I don’t know how much he bought in Dubai. It is so beautiful, I can’t even explain it. I actually don’t put jewelry in that box because I feel like i will devalue it(laughs). I leave it there to just look at it.
Any fashion advice?
Be comfortable, that is the most important thing. Don’t wear something heavy. Wear something that you will be absolutely comfortable in even when the weather changes.
