President Kagame is expected in Kenya's capital Nairobi on Thursday for a two-day visit during which he will attend the 8th Northern Corridor Integration Projects Summit and Jamhuri Day celebrations.
President Kagame and counterparts from Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan will gather to follow up on the October summit held in Kampala, which saw the launch of the Uganda portion of the standard gauge railway that will connect Malaba to Kampala.
The summit, held every two months, is expected to review progress in implementation of ongoing integration projects, focusing on transport, ICT, commodities exchange energy, immigration, trade as well as defence, peace and security cooperation.
The last Northern Corridor Integration Projects Summit was held in Uganda and was marked by the launch of the Malaba to Kampala standard gauge railway. The railway is set to connect South Sudan, Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda.
