Grand Legacy hotel treats guests to Christmas tree lighting cocktail

It was an early Christmas for guests and associates of the Grand Legacy Hotel in Remera, when the hotel treated them to a colourful Christmas tree lighting cocktail party Thursday night.

It was an early Christmas for guests and associates of the Grand Legacy Hotel in Remera, when the hotel treated them to a colourful Christmas tree lighting cocktail party Thursday night. 

"We wish to thank you for the opportunities you have bestowed upon us. We would like to use this chance to show our appreciation and look forward to continue building stronger business relations with you,” explained Sonia Mugabo, the sales and marketing manager.

It was an evening of laughter, networking, in which the hotel unveiled its team and overall vision to guests.

With the aid of slide shows on giant plasma screens, guests were able to take a virtual tour of the hotel over a drink and a bite.

Sports and Culture minister Joseph Habineza delivers his speech.

In his brief speech, the guest of honor, the minister of Sports and Culture Ambassador Joseph Habineza, said the 43 room facility is yet another star on the country’s growing hospitality sector.

"Christmas is a time to celebrate and make merry with family, friends and loved ones, to reflect upon the year, and look forward to the new one,” he said.

The chairman of the Grand Legacy Hotel, Alex Nsengumuremyi was brief in his jovial speech, simply thanking the hotel’s clients and business partners for their support, and encouraging them to make merry.

After the speeches, guests were led downstairs, to the lobby, for the official lighting of the Christmas tree.

The merry-making continued thereafter, with drinks and nibbles served by staff draped in colorful Christmas attire.

Prestige Band, which plays at the hotel every Fridays and Sundays, entertained the guests.
