League champions Police Handball Club have been invited to compete in this year’s East and Central African handball championship scheduled to take place from December 6-12 at Nyayo stadium in Nairobi, Kenya.
So far, five countries have confirmed participation in the 15th edition of the regional championships, however, by press time, Police officials had not yet confirmed the team’s participation. This will be the second time Kenya is hosting the event, having successfully staged it in 2012.
The countries include; hosts Kenya, DR Congo, Uganda, Tanzania and South Sudan. DR Congo will be represented by Police (men and women).
The number from DR Congo could increase as organisers await confirmation from--Mikishi and Blessings.Uganda has Prisons (men) as their representatives while Uganda People’s Defence Forces and Nkumba University are yet to confirm.
Hosts Kenya will field Cereals, Strathmore, Nairobi Water, Kenya Defense Forces, University Combined and Mamba while Sudan will have both men and women’s team.
Tanzania have Jeshi La Kejenga Taifa (men and women) as their representatives while Magereza will confirm next week. Police (men) will represent Rwanda.
