Right Guards won the toss and decided to bowl first, giving the room for their counterpart Indorwa to bat first who then managed to set 68 runs in 23.4 overs all out.
Right Guards then chased the runs and put 74 runs not out in 18 overs thanks to great partnership between Joshua Mwanja and Emanuel Mugabe that managed to put 43 runs which were vital for their victory.
Mugabe was voted the man of the match thanks to his 22 runs and the 5 wickets he took.
"I am very delighted to get this award,” said the Ugandan international cricketer.
Mugabe was also awarded the man of series in the men’s category with 104 runs in 4 innings with the highest score of 38 runs, Joshua Mwanja was the best batter with 207 runs in 5 innings with 23 boundaries on the average of 51.7 runs while Fred Ndayisenga walked away with an award of the best bowler with 11 wickets in 33 overs in the entire tournament.
In the women’s category, Sarah Uwera of Kigali Angels cricket club walked away with the woman of the series award.
She made 119 runs in 4 innings with a score of 37 runs and 2 wickets followed by Queens of Victory’s Diane Bimenyimana, who made 114 runs with highest score of 68 runs in 3 innings and 2 wickets.
Kigali Angels defeated Queens of Victory in the women’s category final.
The winners in the men and women categories were given Rwf100,000 each prize money courtesy of tournament sponsors UAE Exchange and Money Xpress.
