Newly promoted side Sunrise held Rayon Sports to a 1-1 draw in the National Football League yesterday in Rwamagana.
Blues’ striker Isaac Muganza opened the scoring from a Peter Otema pass in the 31st minute to give Rayon Sports an early lead but Patrick Munyankindi equalised from the spot in the 79th minute after Alype Majyambere committed a foul in the penalty box.
Rayon Sports squandered the chance to go top of the league summit after Gicumbi stunned APR 1-0 on Saturday. The Blues maintain second position with 18 points, two behind APR.
Meanwhile, Mukura registered their first win of the season after a hard fought 3-2 victory over Amagaju while Police snatched a 1-0 win over Isonga to bag maximum points ending six-game winless streak.
