After two months of intensive training, the Rwanda national U-19 girls’ cricket team coach Joshua Mwanja has named a final 12-member squad ahead of the ICC Africa U-19 girls’ tournament slated for December 7-9 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Mwanja appointed Sarah Uwera as captain and revealed that he will be relying on her experience alongside senior national team players like Diane Bimenyimana (vice captain), Pacifique Nyarirandona, Jose Umuhoza, Egidia Uwimana and Babyshish Ishimwe.
"We have a very young side but we have been working hard to correct our mistakes and build much on our strengths,” explained Mwanja who believes Rwanda will do better than last year’s fourth position performance.

Mwanja said that, "It is very important to give a chance to the players we have been grooming in the schools across the country.”
