Papa Cyangwe refutes Rock Entertainment’s support in his music career
Rwandan upcoming rapper Papa Cyangwe last week disclosed that he has never signed a contract or any other sort of agreement with Rocky Entertainment label which is owned by socialite Rocky Kimomo.
The rapper released a diss track dubbed ‘Mubigori’ which attacked many people including Rocky whom many thought played a big role in supporting the young rapper.
In an Instagram live with social media influencer known as The Cat, Papa Cyangwe said that the only support he received from Rocky Ent was promoting his songs on its YouTube channel.
"I’ve never received revenues from my projects that were posted on Rocky Entertainment and I think he should stop saying that he raised me in this game,” Papa Cyangwe said.
The rapper went on to say that the only people that helped him is Clement Ishimwe, the owner of Kina Music record label, Titi Brown, journalist Yago and a few others.
Volkano Fest second edition kicks off in style
The highly anticipated second edition of Volkano Fest kicked off in style last week with special performances from both home grown artistes and international acts.
The Nyege Nyege-like festival kick started on Friday October 6, and ended on Sunday October 8 at the Volcano Resort in Musanze.
Vocalist Kaya Byinshii was the first live performer at the festival which attracted hundreds of revelers from all continents and featured big Rwandan musicians such as Bushali, B Threy, Micheal Makembe, Angel Mutoni among many others.
Ariel Wayz, Juno Kizigenza Europe tour cancelled
Last week, Ariel Wayz and Juno Kizigenza’s Europe tour dubbed ‘Home Away From Home’ which was slated to start on October 6, was announced canceled.
The two did not disclose the reason why the music tour was canceled but different reports indicate that they did not get the requirement to travel on time.
‘Home Away from Home’ was scheduled to reach major cities of Europe including Hannover (Germany), Oslo (Norway), Birmingham (England), Upsala (Sweden), Brussels (Belgium), Turin (Italy) and Warsaw (Poland) among others.
Top five DJs complete Mützig Amabeats bootcamp
As the Mützig Amabeats DJ competition draws nearer to its grand finale, the DJs who have made it this far completed their bootcamp on Friday, October 6.
This rigorous training week culminated in a meeting with high-ranking representatives from Bralirwa, during which the DJs gained insights and motivation to prepare for the ultimate finale showdown.
DJ Lenzo, DJ Yolo, DJ Dallas, DJ Kavori, and DJ Noodlot, who are all vying for the championship title, shared their thoughts on the competition.
The competition's final showdown is set for Saturday, October 14, at KCEV (Camp Kigali) from 5 pm, with an entry fee of Rwf5, 000.
Iwacu Muzika thrills Ngoma
Iwacu Muzika road shows are getting to an exciting stage and are also pulling large moving crowds from all corners of the country.
Last week, the show took place in the Eastern province of the country in Ngoma District, where thousands of music lovers convened to witness performances from some of the biggest names in Rwanda’s Music industry.
The concerts, sponsored by MTN, were headlined by the likes of Niyo Bosco, Bruce Melodie, Bushali, Alyn Sano, Bwiza, Afrique and Chris Eazy.
These concerts started in Musanze on September 23, and continued in Huye on September 30. On October 7, they took place in Ngoma, while on October 14, they will take place in Rubavu, before ending with the big concert that will take place on November 25, in Kigali at BK Arena.
